STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- Clinton Global Initiative University held its Fourth Annual Join Me On The Bridge event at Mary Baldwin College on Wednesday night.

The event is named after a group of women who would meet on a bridge to find solutions to community issues.

This year's speaker is the founder of a non-profit organization that educates children in Senegal and discussed girl's education.

These women also talked about the importance of empowering women.

"It's very important to give women the power, empower them, the be able to play that role, and it will make, really, the world a better place, I believe," said Khady Lusby, the founder and president of Open International.

This group will meet again on April 6 at the president's house.
