Democrat Tim Kaine has hired the manager of his successful 2005 gubernatorial campaign, Mike Henry, to run his 2012 U.S. Senate race.
Besides Kaine's run for governor, Henry managed the Democratic
Senatorial Campaign Committee's independent support efforts for
Senate candidates in the 2006 election that won the Democrats their
U.S. Senate majority.
Among the incumbent Republicans ousted in that election was
Kaine's potential GOP foe, George Allen.
He served as deputy manager for Hillary Clinton's 2008
presidential bid.
Also rejoining Kaine's campaign as deputy treasurer is Jody
Wagner, who was secretary of finance in Kaine's administration.
Windsor businessman Warren Thompson becomes Kaine's treasurer.
Eli Kaplan, who coordinated online media for Mark Warner's 2008
Senate victory and Terry McAuliffe's 2009 gubernatorial bid, will
fill the same role for Kaine's new team.
