HARRISONBURG,Va -- About a dozen young girls put on a fashion show Friday at the Explore More Discovery Museum in Harrisonburg. The event was part of 'Project Funway,' which is a week-long summer camp program.
Some of the kids hit the runway Friday afternoon at the museum. They all designed and made their own outfits. Their parents came to watch the show for their last day of camp.
Heather Douglas, the organizer of the program, said this was a unique camp to teach kids how to be creative.
"I think it's really neat because it gave them a chance to create their own design,” said Douglas. “I know a lot of other places like if they go to sewing camp or something like that, they have a pattern and they learn how to sew, which is awesome, but here they just start from scratch and get to create their own outfits."
The museum holds week-long camp programs for kids throughout the summer.
