PAGE COUNTY -- A Luray veteran is now back home after being missing in action for more than 60 years.

Thursday, his family members held a graveside memorial service for him.

"I guess you might say that I am still in a state of shock, because it's so hard to believe," said Anna Lou Moyer, the sister of Glyndon Moyer.

Anna Lou Moyer was 8-years-old when her brother Glyndon Moyer went into the army.

By the time she was about 10-years-old, she found out her brother was missing in action.

"He was very young and energetic and wanted to make the military his life but it was cut short," said Carroll Moyer, the brother of Glyndon Moyer.

"The army called me about ten-years ago and they updated me on Glyndon," said Anna Lou Moyer.

It was a phone call her parents were hoping to get for many years.

"As the years went on, my mom and Dad both passed away," said Anna Lou Moyer.

They never knew what happened to their son. Thursday, Anna Lou Moyer and Carroll Moyer both laid their brother to rest. The United States Army matched their DNA to their brother's.

"Every day and every night, you hope that you would see your brother again. You hope that Glyndon would come home that they would finally notify us and let us know what had happened. We never did until today," said Caroll Moyer.

Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Luray post 621 were also at the graveside memorial service this morning, honoring the Luray veteran who was found.
