HARRISONBURG -- The "LOVE" letters have been spreading the love in some parts of the Valley but you may have not known that some of the letters were made in your own back yard.
Three artists from Harrisonburg created the letters. The idea was to represent Harrisonburg the best way possible. Each letter was made from materials found in the city.
L shows diversity, it shows many different cultures' clothing.
O represents agriculture, it's made out of wood.
V displays recreation, it's made out of old bike parts.
E shows the arts, it has a pieces of black and white boards on it for people to draw on.
Designer Mike Herr said it was great being a part of it.
"It's a pretty good feeling, I've done anything like this before. The day we unveiled this, two kids were climbing around on everything having a great time while some of the ceremony was going on. So it was pretty fun to watch that, that's kind of what it's all about," said Herr.
The letters are a part of the state wide LOVEWORKS program. It's to promote the message, "Love is at the heart of every Virginia vacation."
