WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) -- A local boy believes all schools should have a flag pole.
So for his Eagle Scout Project, Issac Edwards made a plan, raised the money and today a flag went up in Waynesboro.
Edwards spent the whole summer and fall raising money for the project to build a flag pole at the Wayne Hills Center.
$3,700 later he has buried the base in sand, smoothed out the bumps and made sure it stands straight and tall.
"I'm going to be dedicating the flag to military veterans in the area. And I thought that this would be the best day to do it. It was really exciting to see this flag pole go up. All this hard work has paid off, it's beautiful," said Edwards.
The Waynesboro Public School Maintenance Department installed the pole and the flag ceremony will be held on another day.
