Waynesboro, Va. (WHSV) On Sunday a local boy scout dedicated the new flag pole at the Wayne Hills Center to all veterans.

Isaac Edwards said it is a way to recognize and remember all veterans. He raised $3,700 to build the flag pole, as part of his Eagle Scout project.

He said he started planning it a year ago, after he noticed the school did not have a pole.

"It's amazing that all the hard work has paid off," said Edwards "I had my doubts along the way but I just kept trying and believing in it."

He said the school will be able to use it for the national anthem during baseball games. With this project, Edwards will become an Eagle Scout, which is the highest rank in the boy scouts.
