Local Breweries Are Growing in Popularity Around the Valley

HARRISONBURG,Va. (WHSV)-- Three Notch'd is one of the new breweries in the Valley who are getting their start in Harrisonburg.

Due to the growing craft beer industry, Three Notch'd said this is significant because it showcases what the valley has to offer.

Many small breweries, including Three Notch'd, tailors their beers to the surrounding area by using local ingredients; for example, fresh honey, corn, and berries.

Brewers at Three Notch'd said this has a positive impact on our local economy.

"I'm a JMU alumni and its amazing to me just how much JMU has grown in the past couple years, and every small business downtown has its own niche and its own cool space; and we are really excited to grow and foster those community relationships," said Betsy O'Brian of Three Notch'd Brewing Company.

On July 28 and 29, they will release three Harrisonburg beers at their grand opening party on the 28th, from noon until 10 p.m.

The event is open to the public, and there will be local food and bands.
