FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV) -- A local hospital has been nationally recognized.
Augusta Health has been named one of the 100 best hospitals in America by Healthgrades, a company that rates every hospital across the county.
It's a distinction that Augusta Health has won now won three years in a row.
Hospital administrators and staff accepted the award at a ceremony inside the atrium Thursday afternoon.
A representative for Healthgrades said that quality, year after year, and day after day, is not a coincidence.
Augusta Health CEO Mary Mannix said it's something she hopes patients can feel.
"What that feels like is a very individualized plan of care for that patient, that they feel that the clinical standards of care are the best in the country, that they feel that our performance standard is nothing other than excellence and that they see the teamwork, and they feel the teamwork, all of us pulling together in their favor," said Mannix.
Mannix says their goal is to become the best community health care system in the Commonwealth of Virginia. But she says, more than the awards, it's about the journey, committing to quality and helping patients who walk through their doors.
