STAUNTON-- On Wednesday night, the Staunton Creative Community Fund is holding a training session for local produce growers and farmers about selling at farmers' markets.

The goal is to give people some idea of how to get involved before they start the application process. An organizer said many people don't know where to start or who to talk to when thinking about selling at farmers' markets.

There is an application process, and often times there are quality controls. Representatives from different area farmers' markets will talk to attendees about what exactly is involved, offer some best tips, and ways to market.

"Farmers markets are a fantastic opportunity for farmers to get their products to local consumers. One of the best things about selling in a farmers market context is that you really give your customers an opportunity to learn about you, learn about your farm, learn about your growing practices, and to build a relationship with your customers," said Justin Van Kleeck of the Staunton Creative Community Fund.

The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Fund's offices at 10 Byers St. It is free of charge.
