Local Restaurants Gear Up for the World Cup

HARRISONBURG, Va. Across the Valley, local restaurants and bars prepare for the rush of the World Cup. Even non-traditional sports bars are getting ready for the craze.

Many are offering drink specials, hanging flags and banners with the different countries playing in the games.

Some restaurants are even opening up extra rooms and bringing in flat screen televisions, for the community to enjoy.

Cate Nelson is the Manager at Bella Luna. She said, the event helps to showcase our diverse community.

"We have such a diverse city and we really want to support that diversity by supporting the World Cup. This is a good place to show the World Cup and have people come and root for their home teams and home countries," said Nelson.

She said, this event also helps to generate revenue for downtown businesses during the summer months, which can sometimes be less busy.
