BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) -- Schools in our area have a chance to receive up to $100,000 and even host a Kelly Clarkson concert if they win an online competition that promotes safe driving.
You can click the link below to vote for your favorite high school and the voting ends Saturday.
Turner Ashby High School, Luray High School, Fort Defiance High School and Stuarts Draft High School are participating in the competition.
Cindy Ferek, the driver education teacher at Turner Ashby High School, is encouraging students to vote for their school and spread the word.
Every time, you vote, you are committing to be a safe driver.
If the school wins any money, it has to spend 10 percent on a teen driver safety program.
Ferek said that would help her take some lessons outside the classroom, "the leading cause of death for teenagers is car crashes. Unfortunately, so even losing one student is too many, so my job is to make sure they stay safe and anything we can do to make them safer then we've done our job."
Ferek said she would use the money to get some golf carts to teach driving skills.
