HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- We all have different ways for dealing with stress. For some people, it is exercise and for one Valley teen, it is music.

Joseph Keith just released his fifth album and has written hundreds of songs, at the young age of 19.

When he was 12, he heard Bruce Springsteen for the first time, which inspired him to tell his own story through music.

He said, he was inspired by Springsteen's lyrics, which tell a story in every song. Now, Keith looks to accomplish the same goal through his own music.

He said, most of his songs are about love, a topic many people can relate to.

He said, if he ever has a conflict or bad day, music is his way to relieve any stress or anxiety.

"If I just have a crappy day and there is no one else I can talk to, sometimes the best thing to do is just go to my room and play a song. Usually when I was younger, it was to write a song. That's why I would write so many. If I had a bad day, that is a new song right there," said Keith.

He is a part-time student because he travels so much to perform his music.
