Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) -- Plumbing companies are continuing to see an increase in business. Following last week's drop in temperatures. Several stores and homes in our area are reporting flooding due to frozen pipes that crack.

Companies like 'Fix It Repairs' said they are getting calls from people experiencing some flooding.

Bo Rose's recommendations for people to avoid that is to open the cabinet doors, so that heat can access the pipe, and close basement vents to prevent cold air from getting in.

"Here is a pipe that was frozen and busted in a cross base. It was probably 20 degrees that day. It wasn't too bad to have to fix, because it was just a sheet of ice, it was no mud, but it was where it left a cross base and went into the house," said Rose who works with 'Fix It Repairs'.

Rose also said he's seeing more people replace their doors with ones that are better insulated to keep cold air out.
