WINCHESTER – Winchester Police arrested a Cross Junction man Saturday night following a domestic incident.

At 9:37 p.m. officers were called to the 100 block of South Loudoun Street in reference to a fight. When officers arrived the suspect had left the scene. At 9:47 p.m. officers were called to the 100 block of East Piccadilly Street after the same man involved in the fight was seen with a gun in the George Washington Hotel.

When officers arrived on scene the male came out of a hotel room with what appeared to be a firearm. The male dropped the gun and went back into the room. When he came back out a second time officers took him into custody. The gun was an Airsoft rifle.

An investigation revealed a domestic assault had taken place earlier in the evening in the hotel room. The male assaulted a 30-year-old female and would not allow her to leave the room. She had an injury to her hand and was evaluated at the scene.

Lawrence Geisler, III, 34, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, abduction, and brandishing a firearm. He was taken to the Northwestern Regional Adult Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation.
