Man Arrested After Warrant Executed

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- A Port Republic man is in jail facing five felony charges.

The NOVA/ICAC task force, which is composed of investigators from the Virginia State Police, Harrisonburg Police Department and the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant in the 11000 block of Port Republic Road as a part of an ongoing investigation into illicit pictures and other online communications being sent by an adult male subject to juveniles in the Rockingham County area.

Based on the information, they arrested Mark Edward Sipe, 41, of Port Republic.

Sipe faces a charge for the use of electronic means for purpose/promoting indecent liberties with a minor, three counts of possession of child pornography and one count for the possession of a schedule I/II controlled substance.

The investigation is still ongoing and it is likely that additional charges will be placed.

Sipe is currently being held at Rockingham Harrisonburg Regional Jail.
