STAUNTON -- Staunton Police arrested a man and a charged him with molesting a nine-year-old girl. Now, more charges could be on the way.

Staunton Police arrested Ignacio Fernando Galicia-Osorio on Tuesday, charging him with one count of forcible sodomy. Since then, he has been charged with another count of forcible sodomy and four counts of indecent liberties with a child.

According to police, the charges stem from multiple incidents with the same victim. Galicia-Osorio was arrested after the victim's mother contacted police, said Lisa Klein of Staunton Police.

"The child reported it to her mother, who in turn called us," Klein said. "She reported it right away once the child disclosed this information. This had been going on for a period of time."

Klein said more charges could still be on the way for Galicia-Osorio. Galicia-Osorio is being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
