Harrisonburg, Va. (WHSV) A woman in the Valley received a unique motor chair just in time for Christmas.
Artist James August Warsing Jr. decided to give a power chair, equipped with two baskets, to Ashley Torres.
She suffers from Scoliosis, which prevents her from standing and walking.
Torres use to have to carry her 2-year-old son around in a manual wheel chair, while grocery shopping. Now that's about to change.
"I wanted to be able to do something so that she didn't have to keep rolling with her arms, so I figured that would be something good for her," said August Warsing Jr.
"This kind of generosity is very hard to come by these days and especially with the ways thing are going now in the world. So I can't even begin to thank him," said Torres.
Torres has wanted a power chair for a long time now, but she says her insurance wouldn't cover it.
