BRIDGEWATER, Va. (WHSV) -- One man was flown to U. Va Medical Center after a car accident in Bridgewater on Monday afternoon.

After a domestic incident with his girlfriend, a 23-year-old Hispanic man walked away from his home and then his girlfriend picked him up in a Nissan Altima, according to Bridgewater Police Chief Joe Simmons.

Simmons said as the two were driving to the police department, the man exited the moving Altima and hurt his head.

Fire rescue at the scene requested U. Va. Pegasus and the man was flown to U. Va. Medical Center.

No status on his condition at this time, although he appeared to be in stable condition at the scene, according to Simmons.

No charges are pending.
