Man Pleads Guilty to Online Sex Crime

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- An Alexandria man accused of soliciting what he thought was a child pleaded guilty Monday in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

Scott Marshall Hambrick pleaded guilty to felony use of a computer to solicit a minor for sex.

A judge sentenced the 55-year-old to 16 ½ years in prison. As part of a plea deal, he will have to serve six years of the sentence.

He was arrested in February by the Northern Virginia-Washington, D.C. Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Court records say the charge stems from conversations he had with an undercover police officer posing as an underage girl in December.
