Man Who Backed Into Ramada Harrisonburg Dies

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- Paul Jones, the 54-year-old man who backed into the Ramada Harrisonburg, died Thursday, according to the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Jones was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.

He did not die from the crash, according to the accident report.

Jones backed into the Ramada sometime after 3 p.m. Thursday.

Zubin Ratwani, a manager at the Ramada was one of the first on the scene trying to help Jones.

"The car was smoking, his foot was on the pedal and it was at full speed and I saw it smoking. I went and knocked on his window, tried to wake him up," said Zubin Ratwani, the Manager of the Ramada Hotel.

The manager of the hotel said the driver of the vehicle was not a hotel guest.
