FISHERSVILLE, Va. (WHSV)-- Construction is moving along for Mary Baldwin College's new Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences building.

Just one year has passed since steel first went into the ground at the construction site. Now, with just a few weeks until classes begin, administrators say the project is moving at 110 miles per hour. The construction has moved along quickly from blueprint to building. Crews are now putting the finishing touches on the new college.

Many of the rooms, like a human anatomy lab, are just waiting on furniture.

Dr. Linda Seestedt-Stanford, The college's Vice President of Health Sciences, said that she can't help but visualize what the building will be like once it's full of students.

"Visualizing our students in the classrooms, visualizing the students in the labs, seeing the faculty interacting with the students. We've done something truly amazing, and we're really proud of it. We can't wait to welcome our new students into the building," said Seestedt-Standford.

The construction supervisor said that all the inspections of the building are scheduled for next week.

Students will begin to arrive on June 15, and classes begin on June 16.
