The winter season is almost here and one thing several folks think of with the colder weather is winter sports.

There are plenty of winter sports available right here in the Valley, including Massanutten Resort.

Skiers and snowboarders were excited about Massanutten's first week open.

Faith Lovell said, "I had to force my mom to hurry up and get out of the resort, the suite, to hurry to get here."

Many of the snow enthusiasts are visiting the resort and enjoying the slopes.

Hosannah Perry said, "This is the third year in a row that we've been here. We come here every year. A hope to continue coming here every year"

Other visitors were just learning how to maneuver the slopes.

"First day skiing ever. Actually, I can tell I'm a lot better from when I first went down. I've been down about ten times now. I'm definitely a lot better and I'm really enjoying it a lot. I'm definitely going to come up a lot more this season." says Tyler Trolson.
