RICHMOND, Va. (WHSV)-- Prosecutor wasted no time going right after former governor: rapid-firing "you don't deny..." listing gifts, loans, trips, interactions with Williams.

Exchanges were quite tense at times in the courtroom, as the McDonnell trial continued on. McDonnell snapped at one point, "I'm not claiming it. That's what happened."

The trial saw lots of emails used as evidence. The focus was largely on finances, and financial problems the McDonnells were having with beach properties.

The emails also showed communication between McDonnell and his wife, and involvement in each others' finances.

The series of photos of the two arriving to court hearings together surfaced early on in the case. There was an attempt to tear down the defense's argument about a marriage in shambles trying to show that the two could have conspired, and that perhaps McDonnell didn't know what was going on.
