The cold is impacting service for senior citizens in the valley.

The Meals on Wheels program delivered two meals to their clients in Harrisonburg on Monday, because of the cold weather. The Valley Program for Aging Services will also be closing the Timberville Senior Center on Tuesday. The program says that it is best for their members to stay indoors.

"With the cold weather, when it's as severe as it is now, the members of the Senior Center don't really want to go out and be out in the cold, and probably it's better to stay home where it's warm," says Beth Bland, Director of Senior Services for Valley Program for Aging Services.

If you would like to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, you can call 540-568-5253. Meals on Wheels will be delivering meals as normal in Broadway and Timberville.
