WAYNESBORO, Va (WHSV) - The remains discovered in Goochland County on Thursday have been confirmed to be the body of Waynesboro Police Captain Kevin Quick.
This comes a day after state police held a press conference and announced the arrests of three people, each facing felony charges of principal in the second degree and gang participation.
This news comes the day a vigil is planned for quick, where it's expected that many of his former co workers and friends will be in attendance.
The vigil, planned by one of Kevin's former employers, will be held at the Waynesboro Police Department.
"I think it's really a horrible thing to believe that someone could just be picked up off the street like that, taken where ever, and just murdered like that. It's absolutely, horrifying, that's what it is," says Robert Hudlow, manager of a B.P. gas station in Waynesboro.
Local resident Dale Robertson was saddened when he first heard the news and could only think of quick's family.
"I feel for the family, it's kind of bad that situations like this happen in our community. I just hope the family gets through this, it's really tragic," said local resident Dale Robertson.
"We should all participate in that to show unity and support for our police department and the good job that they do," said Hudlow.
