A unique camp has been going on all week at Stuart Hall School in Staunton.
The camp is called Going Medieval and involves learning more about battle tactics from the middle ages.
"Our history teacher, Mr. Layne, who's a really awesome guy, he has this camp with a guy named Dr. Lawson from Bridgewater. We are doing a lot of stuff with medieval warfare. says Samuel Bernard, one of the campers.
"We've been doing the swordplay and learning things like that and that's pretty fun." says Laren Minton, a camper. "Even when its hot outside its fun. It was raining yesterday so we fought in the rain."
"I like the sword fighting a lot but I really like the tabletop stuff because its kind of a broader view of what it would be like to command in the medieval ages." says Samuel Bernard
"It might not seem useful but it is useful because you're learning not just skills about swords and playing board games but its teaching you practical thought process skills." says Laren Minton.
The campers are also involved in making chain mail.
The two camp teachers hope they can teach the kids tactical thinking.
