Meeting Focuses on The Future of Walking and Biking

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- The Metropolitan Planning Organization discussed a new bike and pedestrian plan Thursday afternoon.

The group mapped out all current and needed pathways in the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County area.

"Bicycling and walking will increase as facilities increase and that in turn calls for more facilities because more people are joining in on bicycling and walking," said Rhonda Cooper, the director of planning for Rockingham County.

The subcommittee is hoping to have a finalized plan to present to the Virginia Department of Transportation by June.
