STAUNTON, Va. (WHSV) -- An Augusta County man convicted of murder will likely die behind bars.
On Wednesday, a judge sentenced 62-year-old Steven Moore to 43 years in prison.
The murder of Van Bell Jr. happened in March 2013, after a fight at a home on Fishers Circle in Staunton. In January 2014, a jury found Moore guilty of both first-degree murder and a gun charge.
Alice Fauber, Bell's mother, said justice has been served, but that doesn't make it easy.
"Nobody really won. I don't have my son. He don't have his family. So who won? It'll just have to be like that for the rest of our life," said Fauber.
She also said that her son's death has changed her perspective.
"The little bitty problems in life are just little bitty problems. Something like this is a problem you live with the rest of your life. Most problems can be fixed. But this is one that can't be fixed," said Fauber.
Moore faced a possible life sentence and would be 105 when he's eligible for release.
