According to Mike Aulgur with The Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative 1,450 customers are without power this morning. The company is citing an equipment failure as the cause.
The failure happened at 8:30 a.m. They did want customers to know if they heard a loud boom to not worry. The boom came from a protective device disengaging to stop the power flow.
Crews are on scene and working to fix the equipment failure. They estimate power to be restored by noon.
