Mother Mourns Nine-Year-Old Son After He Dies in Mobile Home Fire

A mother is mourning her son after he died in a fire early Saturday morning.

"Nobody can imagine what it's like to lose your child," said Holly Kennedy, who lost her son. "A child is supposed to outlive their parents, and for me to have to bury my son is just unimaginable. I don't wish this on anyone."

Truman Wine was nine years old when he died. He was a fourth grader at Ashby Lee Elementary in Shenandoah County.

"I've got friends all over, on Facebook, I'm with friends right now," said Kennedy. "Everybody, just all the support is unbelievable."

Kennedy's Facebook page shows all that support. Hundreds of friends are posting prayers and kind words to help her as she mourns her son.

Her daughter is helping her too.

"She told me that, 'it's okay mommy he's an angel in heaven with God now," said Kennedy.

Truman and his father Jeff were two of the three people who died in the fire.

"Everyone loved that boy, and his dad too, he was a good man," said Kennedy. "We don't understand why? I mean God's got some good angels with him right now, but it seems unfair."

Kennedy says the third victim of the fire was a man who worked with Jeff Wine.

The fire completely destroyed a mobile home a few miles south of New Market in Rockingham County.

Investigators are still trying to find out what caused that fire.
