HARRISONBURG -- Neighbors had a chance to view plans and give their opinions for the construction of the new municipal building.
The open house was held Wednesday night at the City Council Chambers.People had the chance to look at six different proposed plans. The plans offer a variety of changes to make room for the construction.
Some plans would reduce green space while others would alter historic areas.
"I think it is really important that they are starting to take some public input into this process," said Thomas Jenkins, co-owner of Shenandoah Bicycle Company.
"I would have to see the South side of the existing municipal building covered up by a new building because that's essentially like putting a curtain in front of the history of our community," said Harrisonburg resident Janet Trettner.
