NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WHSV)-- Over 100 people attended a meeting on June 8 after several residents received letters from Dominion Resources Inc., asking permission to survey their land for a possible natural gas pipeline.
Anne Buteau has owned a farm in Nelson County for 15 years. She said she received a letter from Dominion and is concerned that her land will be compromised.
"Unless it goes way back in the woods it would completely destroy the infrastructure of our small farm," said Buteau.
Residents were in awe as dozens stuck stars along a map showing that their land could be a part of a $2 billion pipeline project.
Dominion could start surveying land by next month. If built, the pipeline could be put into service by the end of 2018.
