HARRISONBURG, Va.--The design team of a proposed park in downtown Harrisonburg hosted a public meeting on Wednesday. During the meeting, it listened to neighbors about the type of park and amenities they want to have.

Neighbors split in groups, answering questions regarding what is significant around the site, the use for the park and its main priorities.

One neighbor wants to see an art display and a water feature in the 4.5 acre park.

."It would be nice if you are downtown that you could have a nice restful place to take a break. If you are working downtown, you can have lunch there and just enjoy the ambiance of a really nice place in the the heart of the city," said Jerry Coulter.

The team will host a meeting on Saturday with its initial findings. A final design, amenities and costs will be finished by October.
