HARRISONBURG, Va. -- A new boutique is one of two new stores coming to Harrisonburg in the next few days.
It's a part of Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance's push to get new businesses in the city.
Bluetique, which is next to Blue Nile on Main street, will open its doors on Friday at 11 a.m..
The director of retail said they are drawn to hHarrisonburg because of all of the colleges.
They have been working around the clock since Tuesday to get the inside of the store ready, and a design worker has worked on the store for a month.
The Director of Retail Elizabeth Shipley said it is called Bluetique because they thought they'd carry a lot of denim at first.
Now, with three other locations in Kentucky and Ohio, they are a boutique with a mix of things.
Their prices range from 99 cents to $68.99 and their motto is cheap chic, so they're focused on making prices affordable.
When you walk inside the store, you'll notice wall graffiti that targets specific shoppers: James Madison university students.
With the opening today, employees are offering a pair of free earrings just for stopping by.
"We really think we have added a great location to their downtown area. We looked at it across the street at night and it looks fabulous. I think everyone will really like it when they come see us," said Shipley.
Bluetique is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and there is also a location opening in Charlottesville next week.
Another new business, Walkabout Outfitters, will also be opening on Main street on Monday as well.
