AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. - A non-profit group in Augusta County has launched a summer day camp for kids with special needs.
But today's launch is just the beginning for Creative Works Farm's mission: having the kids experience something they otherwise might not get to experience.
On Tuesday organizers cut the ribbon on "Camp LIGHT" (which stands for "Love-Inspire-Give-Hope-Teach") as campers arrived for their first day. The kids will have three days of activities this week.
Creative Works Farm has 62 acres, and organizers plan to add other facilities, hoping to expand to a full summer of day camps by 2015 and overnight camp by 2016.
