AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. -- A crash on Parkersburg Turnpike ended with two men dead, after a truck carrying cattle hit a dark blue Chevrolet Cavalier.
52-year-old Galen Adkins was the driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier. He died on the scene.
"My husband was a loving person, he did everything he did for me and my brother," said Judith Adkins, wife of Galen Adkins.
Her brother also died in the crash. He was 70-year-old Roy Jackson. The two lived in Augusta Springs. Galen Adkins was driving Jackson back from a doctor's appointment.
"Heard it on the scanner and when they said something about a blue car was hit on by a truck, something hit me in the heart and tears flew out my eyes and I just knew it was my husband. yep," said Judith Adkins.
She said she'll never forgive the driver of the truck that crossed the center line and hit her husband's Chevrolet Cavalier.
"Because you took the life of two wonderful people. A man that worked everyday and a man that's done his best to take care of his family and friends," said Judith Adkins.
She says she keeps waiting for them to come back.
"I just keep looking and thinking they are going to come down that road and I just don't think I'm going to make it," said Judith Adkins.
Galen Adkins was an employee with Pittman Tree company.
Virginia State Police is continuing their investigation. At last check, the driver of the truck was at UVA.
