New Exhibits Coming to Fairgrounds

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- You may see some new sights when you head to the Rockingham County Fairgrounds this year.

Two new buildings to house poultry exhibits are being built.

Tuesday morning, a ceremony for the buildings was held at the fairgrounds. One poultry building will hold the live poultry and rabbit exhibits, while the other will show the history of poultry growing in the Valley.

The upgrades will cost a total of $300,000. and be paid for in-part by donations and government grants.

Local poultry growers are excited for the chance to show the Valley what they do.

"It'll educate the people and then it'll teach people the history of the poultry industry in Rockingham County so we look forward to seeing that," said Keith Simmons, a poultry grower in Rockingham County.

The two buildings should be completed sometime this summer, just in time for this year's county fair.
