HARRISONBURG, Va --- Harrisonburg students had an extra 15 minutes on their hands, thanks to the new school schedule.
Starting Tuesday, school will start 15 minutes later for all Harrisonburg schools. The extra time will help school leaders make decisions for weather related delays and closings.
Superintendent Scott Kizner said everything went smoothly this morning with the new times.
“This morning we had our first shot at the new schedule,” said Dr. Kizner. “I started my morning at the high school. Buses got there exactly as planned. Kids got off the bus excited and ready to come to school.”
Kizner wanted to remind parents that school buildings do not open until 30-minutes before classes begin.
