AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) -- Tomorrow starts a new year and another piece of Obamacare will be put into place.

123 new accountable care organizations or ACO's have been announced nationwide, including one right here in the Valley, the Augusta Care Partners in Fishersville.

Dr. Fred Castello, the executive director of the Augusta Care Partners ACO, said the new doctor-hospital-health care provider partnership will help give better care while keeping costs down.

"The desire is to have these patients cared for much more globally. So that you've got one person who's able to look at the care of those patients and follow them over time," said Castello.

He also said the Augusta Care ACO is for Medicare patients right now, but they do plan to expand it in the future.
