New Preschool to Open in Churchville

CHURCHVILLE, Va. (WHSV) -- Staff at a new preschool in Churchville prepare to open its doors in less than a month.

The new school is working closely with Augusta County School leaders and will use different curriculum which won't be limited by the Standards of Learning

The building where "Bison Beginnings Early Learning Center" is set to open used to be a dentist office.

Former elementary teacher Carmen Sheets, who is opening the school, has hired three teachers so far. The staff says it is looking forward to helping students prepare for kindergarten.

The new school will offer two, three, and five day programming. So far, 15 students are enrolled and there are 15 spots open.

The school hopes to open it's doors on Sept. 2. Right now, a final inspection is taking place.
