STAUNTON -- A store in Staunton opened its doors Saturday, supporting other local and American businesses by stocking its shelves with only American-made clothes.
The store is called "Made; by the People, for the People." The grand-opening and ribbon-cutting welcomed people into the store Saturday morning.
Owner Corrie Park said there are a lot of reasons it is good to sell clothes made in the USA.
"Even more than supporting American jobs, the environmental reasons and the regulations that protect American workers," Park said. "We're just very lucky here in America that we have that. So that's what we're trying to do. Our concept is a modern-day general store. All the clothing is made in America, 100 percent."
"Made" had its soft opening on Wednesday. Park said it already is exceeding her expectations.
