New U.Va. Building to House All Pediatric Care

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- All of the University of Virginia Medical Center's pediatric departments will be housed in one building later this year.

A June 14 ribbon cutting is set for the $141.5 million Battle Building. The 20,000-square-foot, seven-story building will house all 36 of U.Va.'s pediatric care specialists.

The chairman of the hospital's Department of Pediatrics, Dr. James P. Nataro, tells The Daily Progress ( ) that the goal is to provide one-stop shopping where patients can get all of their appointments in one place in one day.

Currently, some pediatric care offices are located at the main complex, while others are in the Northridge Medical Park and the Fontaine Research Park.
