HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -- A new website has launched showing you how prone your home is to wildfires.

Leaders with the Department of Forestry say during the past four years in Augusta, Rockingham, Page and Shenandoah counties, 38 fires have burned more than 2,000 acres.

They hope this new website will educate the public and help cut down on the number of wildfires.

"Everybody sees on TV these massive wildfires happening out west. Well we do have some serious fires happening in the east as well and they can be just as dangerous as those out west. So, this tool would help people be more aware of the conditions they are living in," said Justin Barns with the Department of Forestry.
