Five people face charges after a New Year's party in Harrisonburg.
Harrisonburg Police arrested four of them for disorderly conduct, drunk in public and underage drinking.
Virginia State Police arrested one person.
This happened after 12:40 p.m. on Cardinal Drive.
Harrisonburg Police arrived at the scene after someone called 911 saying there was fight and gun shots had been fired.
Jeremy Tyler visits a home on cardinal drive often.
"The neighborhood is very wonderful. There's great neighbors," Tyler said.
He says it's a pretty quiet neighborhood until a New Year's party took a turn.
"It sounded like gun shots but I assumed it was fireworks," he said.
He said that's why he went outside to take a look.
"I saw the cops down there, a fire truck and what it look like a rescue squad," he said.
A Harrisonburg Police Corporate Charles Grubbs said 50 people were at that party.
Tyler said this is unusual.
"There's been a little bit of partying down there but this was definitely a bigger event," he said.
According to Grubbs, when police got to the scene, they saw people standing on the street yelling at each other.
Grubbs said officers found signs of a fight but didn't see one.
Officers tried to get information from the tenants and people at the party but Grubbs said they didn't give officers much information.
He also said they couldn't find a gun or proof that shots had been fired.
They only found someone who was lighting fire crackers.
"I was really wondering what was going on and concerned about everybody's safety in our neighborhood," he said.
But he's not surprised it happened at the house with the purple door.
"There has been a lot of sketchy activity there but that's all that I want to say," he said.
WHSV tried to talk to the girls living at the home but they refused to go on camera.
They did tell WHSV there was a fight and they were trying to stop it.
One of them had a black eye, but WHSV doesn't know if it was from the day of the party or a different day.
The neighbor living next door to where the incident happened said the girls moved in there recently.
But they have not had any problems with them.
