HARRISONBURG, Va.-- It is that time of year, when many people enjoy eating outside. With this warm weather, food trucks are growing in popularity.
Trucks on South High Street in Harrisonburg is one location where several business owners have come together to make a central food location.
The owner of the Trucks said, summer is an easier time to establish yourself. In fact, he said the number of food trucks in the lot has doubled, from two to four in the last three months.
Taste of Soul is one food truck which just opened this week. The owners said, the money they get during the summer months help last them through the rest of the year when people are not out as much.
Angela Rouse, the owner of Taste of Soul, said this is a good way for local people to support other local businesses.
"We've made an impact so many different ways with the people that we live with that it guaranteed success, because the people that come up, know you. And, if you haven't done what you're supposed to in your community, it's an instant fail," said Rouse.
The owner of the lot said not only is the number of food trucks increasing, but also the number of customers.
