STAUNTON, Va -- The Staunton Obama campaign office was full of excitement when it opened Friday morning. They say Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan's visit shows that the Valley is going to be a key arena in this election.

Republicans and Democrats hope this visit will encourage more voters to hit the polls.

“I think it's a good thing. It's been a long time since a national campaign has come to the Valley. I think people are excited about being considered somebody that they want to talk to,” said Liz Carmack, an Obama campaign volunteer.

They may not share the same ideas, but people at the Obama campaign office say the Ryan visit to the Valley is good for the area. They say it shows the Valley will be a key arena in the upcoming election.
