AUGUSTA COUNTY -- One fire and rescue squad is getting a grant to replace old equipment. The Augusta County Board of Supervisors gave its approval Wednesday night.
The 50-50 grant would give $50,000 to Augusta County Fire and Rescue. The grant would provide enough money to replace the 17-year-old ambulance, bring in new radio equipment and a new computer.
"Pretty confident that we got it. We submitted two previous. The first ambulance we purchased and we recently got one at the beginning of this year so this would be the third one we would be going after," said Captain Nathan Ramsey.
Fire and rescue will have to come up with the other $50,000.
