Some organizations in the Valley are making sure everyone has a holiday, especially those who served our country.
Faith Forkovitch is packing handmade Christmas stockings to send to Germany.
They will go to a hospital that helps wounded veterans.
She's a member of the Liberty Hall Chapter of the 17th Century Colonial Dames and the Massanutten Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
These organizations helped her filled the stockings with presents for the veterans.
According to Forkovitch, the Rockingham Recreation Center members spent all summer and fall sewing the stockings.
She said it's important to thank them for their sacrifice and hard work.
"Oh my Goodness, I think all of us would like to know that somebody thinks of us when we are sick, or when we are hurt and in this case all of these stockings are going for that very purpose." Forkovitch said.
Forkovitch said she is also sending some toiletries, blankets and food to the hospital in Germany.
She said when soldiers are wounded, they have close to nothing.
In addition, Forkovitch is sending 50 donated golf clubs to a Rehabilitation hospital in Salem, Virginia.
She said they use the golf clubs to help veterans heal and get distracted.
According to Forkovitch, people can also donate used books and old cell phones to help veterans.
She said she has a whole list of the items that can make a difference.
