Page County Has No Homeless Shelter

The recent freezing cold temperatures can be a challenge for the homeless who need warm shelter.

With the highest unemployment rate in the Valley and no homeless shelters, Page County sends the homeless to other cities for help.

The only shelter that comes close in the county is one that only houses women and children. This can create problems when people call the shelter and they have a family.

Any men or families are actually referred to other cities.

There are no accurate numbers of the homeless in Page County, and the county administrator says his office has received no complaints about the lack of a shelters in the county.
